Chua Hao Sheng Keith
Senior Physiotherapist
Keith Chua is a Senior Physiotherapist with over 13 years of experience in acute and critical care, specialising in cardiorespiratory, neurological, and geriatric rehabilitation.
Clinical Experience
Keith works closely with older adults recovering from stroke, deconditioning, and complex medical conditions, including heart and respiratory diseases. He is particularly experienced in managing patients who are frail, medically complex, or initially assessed to have limited rehabilitation potential. Through structured, personalised rehabilitation programmes, he focuses on achieving meaningful functional outcomes - whether it is walking again, improving strength, or safely returning to daily activities.
He also has extensive experience managing highly complex cases, including patients with tracheostomy and those requiring advanced chest physiotherapy at home. His services include airway clearance techniques such as cough assist and suctioning, delivered with meticulous attention to safety, clinical precision, and caregiver education.
What sets Keith apart is his ability to combine neurological rehabilitation with strong cardiorespiratory expertise. This ensures that patients with underlying heart or lung conditions can undergo rehabilitation safely, with careful monitoring and progressive therapy - giving families confidence and peace of mind.
Workplace Achievement
In 2020, Keith established the hospital’s heart failure and high-risk rehabilitation programmes, enabling patients who were previously deemed unsuitable for therapy to participate safely. Many of these patients regained function and improved their quality of life. The programme and its outcomes were featured in local media, recognising his work in creating safe, effective rehabilitation pathways for high-risk patients.
Teaching Experience
Keith is also actively involved in training and mentoring physiotherapists. As an Associate Faculty member at the Singapore Institute of Technology, he teaches the management of cardiorespiratory conditions, with a focus on safe clinical practice, progression, and patient-centred care. He is committed to developing the next generation of physiotherapists and giving back to the profession. In addition, he trains junior physiotherapists in managing patients across both hospital and community settings.
